iOS app: notifications
Notifications the app sends
| Notification | Who gets it | When |
|---|---|---|
| A message from your coach | Coach clients | Straight away. An email follows after 30 minutes if the message is still unread |
| “Your check-in was reviewed” | Coach clients | When your coach reviews a check-in. If you did not get one, look under Profile > Check-ins > Past |
| “New program assigned” | Coach clients | A few minutes after your coach assigns a program |
| “Your weekly check-in is ready” | Individuals | The morning of your last training day of the week, if you logged at least two workouts in the last seven days |
| “Your week, reviewed” | Individuals | After your next week has been prepared |
| “Rest complete” | Everyone | When a rest timer ends during a workout |
Everything except the rest timer also appears in the in-app list under Profile > Notifications.
Notifications the app does not send
These do not exist at the moment, so there is nothing to fix if they are missing:
- a daily or morning workout reminder;
- habit reminders or streak alerts;
- nutrition or meal reminders;
- a notification when a check-in opens or becomes overdue (coach clients);
- a notification when a nutrition plan, habit or resource is assigned;
- billing or payment notifications to clients.
The Notifications screen
Profile > Notifications lists recent notifications. Opening the screen marks them all as read and clears the badge on the app icon.
Tapping a notification opens the app, but does not jump to the related message or check-in. Go to it from Home or Profile.
Settings
Tap the settings icon at the top right of the Notifications screen. Each category has a Push and an Email switch.
| Category | Default |
|---|---|
| Messages | Push and email on |
| Check-ins | Push on |
| Programs | Push on |
| Nutrition | Push on |
| Habits & streaks | Push on |
| Billing | Email on |
In-app notifications are always on.
Turning notifications on
You are asked during setup. If you chose Not now:
- Open iPhone Settings.
- Go to Notifications > Straton.
- Turn on Allow Notifications.
The first time you start a workout, the app may ask for permission so the rest timer can alert you.
Troubleshooting
I’m not getting notifications.
- Check iPhone Settings > Notifications > Straton is allowed.
- Check the category is on in Profile > Notifications > settings.
- Check that a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb is not silencing them.
- Open the app once after reinstalling or signing in again, so the phone is registered.
The badge on the app icon won’t clear. Open Profile > Notifications, and read any unread messages.
I get emails I don’t want. Turn off Email for that category in the notification settings.
A deleted message still shows on my Lock Screen. A notification already delivered stays until you clear it.
