Straton overview: who uses what, and key terms

Read this first. It gives the shape of the product and the words used across the rest of the knowledge base.

What Straton is

Straton is a training and nutrition platform with two sides:

  • Coaches run their coaching business in a web app: clients, programs, nutrition, habits, check-ins, messaging and payments.
  • People who train use the iOS app, either with a coach or on their own.

The three kinds of customer

Customer Uses Pays Plan comes from
Coach Web app at app.straton.fit Straton, for a Starter, Pro or Studio plan The coach builds it
Coach client iOS app Their coach, through Stripe. Never Straton Their coach
Individual iOS app Apple, for an App Store subscription Straton builds it from their answers

The first step in almost every support conversation is working out which of these the person is. The answer to “how do I cancel” or “why can’t I log my workout” is different for each.

Quick ways to tell:

  • Writing from the web app, or asking about clients, packages or the Agent: a coach.
  • Mentions “my coach”, an invitation code, or Messages in the app: a coach client.
  • Mentions the setup questions, a subscription screen in the app, or a weekly review: an individual.

One person can be more than one. A coach client can also have a personal plan, and switches between them with the Training with menu in the app.
